Engine

Like other car manufacturers, AUDI has to develop and build their engines taking into account many constraints. Some of these include fuel economy aspects, very strict emission control for certain countries, as well as taking into account the bad gas quality only available in certain parts of the world.

It is therefore easy to understand that you can rather optimize your engine to target higher performance levels, if you do have excellent gas quality and if fuel economy is not the main concern. In addition, this can be done keeping an excellent reliability.

RS Quattro works with the best engine specialists on the market to achieve individual performance levels for your AUDI S and RS cars. From simple filter changes, to ECU upgrades, up to bigger upgrades like using larger turbos (for turbocharged engines like RS4 B5 or RS6 engines), all this is available at competitive prices.

We do not promise the impossible; we only give you what can be done, by individual engine tuning on car dynos (loading general software is not our way of proceeding). You will therefore always know your power and torque curves before and after the upgrade. This is, for us, the only way to know what has been achieved.

Attached is an example of a Dyno plot done on a RS4 V8. On these engines the optimization results in an additional 20-25HP and 20-30 Nm. The re-programming also allows to change the exhaust valves opening in Sport and non Sport mode, to change the max RPM limiter when engine is cold (decreasing from 7000rpms, to a suggested 5000rpm), to remove the top speed limiter, as well as remove the throttle valve limiter in first, second and third gear below 5000rpm (up to 50Nm more).

On the previous RS4 (B5), the performance upgrades can go from 430 hp up to 600hp if desired, while on the RS6 V8, you can easily get to 510-520hp with 650 Nm just with the engine software optimized on a Dyno. This is just some examples of what can be done on some AUDI S and RS cars.
